Ana Brett & Ravi Singh Kundalini Yoga The Body Electric (2011) DVDRip
ENGLISH | AVI 1368 Kbps | 640 x 480 pixels | 4:3 | 23.976 fps | MP3 128 Kbps 2 channels 48.0 KHz | 893 MiB
Genre : Yoga / Tantra
The Body Electric focuses on strength, flexibility, athletic endurance. A great warm up set is followed by two routines for flexibility and nerve strength (Nerves of Platinum parts 1 & 2), Body Bliss Workout (an amazing Kundalini, on your mat, cardio romp featuring exercises ANYONE can do), deep relaxation, mantra chant, plus bonus material.
The workout is challenging (although very repetitive). But this is not yoga, and having Kundalini Yoga on the cover is misleading. This is more like a loose interpretation of some basic yoga poses made into some kind of strange techno aerobic exercise video. I found the majority of the poses very untraditional like they were made up by Ravi/Ana. Yoga is supposed to be a combination of strength and calmness, and this video is the opposite of calming.
If you want a challenging YOGA workout, I would suggest Shivea Reas Daily Energy or Fluid Power. These videos are beautifully shot with soothing music, but the workout is intense. And Shivea Rea does actual traditional yoga. Or, if you enjoy Ana Brett, try any of her older videos (think: brown hair Ana), like Navel Power, Warrior Workout, Fat Free Yoga, or Ultimate Stretch.

About Kundalini Yoga
Traditionally all yoga systems were considered to be a preparation for the inner evolution and outer transformation for which Kundalini, is invariably a catalyst. In the context of life as we know it, in which true change is very rare, Kundalini Yoga works amazingly quickly.
Kundalini Yoga is not about mastering difficult looking exercises. Its very user friendly. Essentially, if you can breathe you can do it!
Modifications are given for each exercise so everyone can always partiCENZURAte. Whether youre in shape, out of shape, or wavering between the two, Kundalini Yoga will definitely work for you!
Kundalini Yoga blends breathing, movement, stretching, meditation, chanting and the science of sequence. The poet Dylan Thomas phrase, the force that through the green fuse drives the flower, is the perfect definition for Kundalini.
Its Life aspiring, the creative motivating force within us. Kundalini empowers us to shine, prosper, and excel in all things. Its the common denominator for all forms of self healing, inspiration, and transformation.
A typical Kundalini Yoga class normally starts with a breathing exercise. Then we do some spinal warm ups and stretching followed by a special set called a Kriya. A Kriya is a poetic progression of exercises which work in concert to create a synergistic, multi dimensional, exponential effect. One Kriya might focus on the de toxing the liver, or working through creative blocks, mastering your moods, or possibly developing will power.
After doing a set we relax on our backs for a few minutes. Then we end class with some form of meditation. Whatever the focus, by the end of every class you will feel energized and relaxed, focused and expansive, all at the same time.
Kundalini Energy: Myths & Misconceptions
In our combined 40 years of teaching Kundalini Yoga we have never come across anyone who claimed to be in the throes of Kundalini Syndrome which wasnt actually something more prosaic.
We feel that what is known as Kundalini Syndrome, as described on the internet and in certain books, is really the misinterpretation of a wide range of symptoms from hypoglycemia and allergic sensitivity, to bipolar disorder and heavy metal toxicity, to electromagnetic pollution and medical students disease (thinking that you are manifesting the symptoms of every pathology you read about)!
We feel that the interesting experiences people describe relate to the process of working through energy and emotional blocks, and that invariably it would be a misnomer to lable those experiences Kundalini Syndrome or Kundalini energy.
Kundalini, in its true definition, is a healing energy which promotes balance and fulfillment. Kundalini can be defined as the basic bio energy in nature, and A Universal archetype in the growth of the psyche. Kundalini Yoga is designed to strengthen the nervous system, glandular system, while balancing the emotions and healing the psyche, to create a more well balanced, effective, and happier, more fit person.
There are a number of checks and balances built into Kundalini Yoga so that the practitioner never accesses more energy then they can gracefully accommodate. Every exercise and meditation strengthens the nervous system, glandular system, emotions, and more, to create a more well balanced, effective, and happier individual.
We advise people with regard to Kundalini Yoga: it is actually more dangerous NOT to do it. Kundalini Yoga provides the tools to live healthy, happy, and fulfilled and to realize ones potential and greatness.
In summation, it could be said that individuals citing negative experiences are actually experiencing the absence of Kundalini energy or the extent to which their life energy is blocked. Invariably these people are helped immensely by practicing Kundalini Yoga.
Again, it is very common to go through a physical and emotional detox at the onset of a Kundalini Yoga practice, especially if your previous lifestyle had some less than healthy aspects. We recommend that a person do Navel Chakra work (on our Navel Power DVD and all of the other titles) . The Navel Chakra is the most important chakra because it gathers energy and distributes it to all the other chakras so that Kundalini energy can flow the way its meant to. In addition, a strong Navel Chakra gives a person the will to move forward with energy, maintain discipline, and be fearless.

Atheism & Yoga
Atheism and yoga are very compatible because the practice of yoga does not mandate any type of belief system. Yoga is simply a technology which can be used in whichever way a person is inspired to use it.
Because the practice of yoga/meditation engenders direct experience and expanded awareness, one is eventually able to transcend definitions and to experience more deeply whatever it is they believe in.
Many people try to understand God, through a process of logical deduction. God, the Universe, Totality, or whatever one wants to call it, are beyond the mind.
We feel that to declare oneself an atheist because they havent had a personal experience of what could be termed, God, is as valid as one who believes based on faith alone.
It is a common human foible to bicker about what God is or isnt while waiting for God to prove its existence. It would be better if we all strived to expand our awareness and live in a way so that God, or Infinity becomes self evident.
Breath of Fire: How To Do It, Benefits, More!
Breath of Fire, also known as Bhastrika or Bellows Breath, is a rhythmic breath with equal emphasis on the inhale and exhale, essentially no deeper than sniffing. When done correctly you should have the feeling that you can go on indefinitely. It is important to keep your diaphragm relaxed so that your navel moves in rhythm with the breath. The navel moves in while the exhaling is occuring and relaxes on the inhale. If this is not happening, you can help it along a little bit by slightly pulling your navel in on the exhale. Your lower stomach should not be moving more than your navel.
A common mistake that people make while doing Breath of Fire is to emphasize the exhale. Remember to keep the inhale and exhale even. If you experience shortness of breath while doing Breath of Fire, then it probably means that your diaphragm (solar plexus) is tight, usually from stress and emotional holding patterns.
Breath of Fire sort of sounds like a steam locomotive, but again, it should be done in a relaxed manner, with no strain whatsoever. Keep you lips together, face relaxed, and as we said MAKE SURE THAT YOUR DIAPHRAGM IS RELAXED. Breath Fire is done with the upper lungs. The entire lung capacity will be involved but this is a sympathetic process and you dont need to force anything. If initially you have difficulty sustaining the Breath of Fire, then substitute Long Deep Breathing, and go back to the Breath of Fire when you can.
Long Deep Breathing should be substituted for Breath of Fire after the fourth month of pregnancy. Also, it is recommend that young adults, under the age of 16 refrain from doing the Breath of Fire (because it stimulates the pituitary gland and can, according to Yogi Bhajan, prematurely stimulate sex hormones).
Some benefits for Breath of Fire are:
It creates a rhythmic entrainment among all systems and organs to put you in sync with yourself.
It oxygenates and purifies the bloodstream.
It stimulates the nadis, and other energy flows in the body.
It is said to engender the internal benefits in 1 min. which would have taken up to an hour in the same pose with a normal breath.
It stimulates the pituitary gland and helps to bring all of the glands into balance.
It strengthens the magnetic field of the body, also knows as the circumvent force, or physical aura.
Kappalabati, not to be confused with Breath of Fire, is a cleansing breath which entails a quick inhale with a sharp exhale and is only meant to be done for short periods.
If Breath of Fire is uncomfortable for you, your solar plexus may be tight from stress or emotional duress. Practice consciously releasing the upper abdominal area as you do the Breath of Fire and also, as you go about your day, continually keep this area relaxed. When the solar plexus is blocked there is a disconnect between feeling and thinking. To be an integrated well balanced person in all areas of our lives it is very important to have the solar plexus open.
Its also very important to remember that when areas that have been blocked begin to open, sometimes we can feel a little resistance as old habits and perspectives die hard.
By all means stay within your comfort zone (Breath of Fire should be very relaxed and rhythmic, if this is not possible substitute Long Deep Breathing) but know that there is no place left to go but onward and upward!
Now if you ask me, this is NO YOGA. I practice it since early childhood, so I suppose I know a thing or two. Is good to have an open mind and to experiment new things, but you have to establish a base line first. If you really want and are ready for some advanced yoga, you only need two books: Asana Pranayama Mudra Bandha, and Kundalini Tantra, both by Swami Satyananda Saraswati. You can browse them here on this site, but if you can afford it, is better to have the actual books so you can reference at any time what youre learning. On this solid foundation you can then build what is best for you (see there what Bhastrika and Kapalbhati are even Ravianas translation is wrong, not only technique itself).
